Human Resources Analyst - Special Projects

ESSENTIAL CLASS DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Based on metrics and analysis, makes recommendations for policies and activities to improve the organizational culture.
  • Performs research related to confidential human resources issues; compiles and evaluates data; prepares related reports.
  • Assists with critical projects impacting the entire organization including revision of the Human Resources Manual, major medical initiatives, and disaster recoveries.
  • Conducts needs assessments and comparison reviews on related Human Resources topics.
  • Monitors and tracks pending legislation that has both a direct and indirect effect on employment law.
  • Remains abreast of current laws, standards, and governmental regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law. 
  • Designs and develops measurement tools on key Human Resources functions including pre-employment processing and turn-over reporting.
  • Provides interpretation of human resources policies, practices, and work rules for employees, supervisors, and applicants; assists employees with human resources programs and processes.
  • Prepares, processes, reviews, and updates a variety of human resources information including essential employee documentation, unemployment, DOT, and/or related documents.
  • Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resources information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and employee surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitor practices, and other sources.
  • Analyze data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.
  • Identifies and recommends reasonable short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics.
  • Prepares and presents related reports to Human Resources Director and / or Senior Management.
  • Coordinates a variety of employee engagement opportunities including developing employee contests and coordinating fundraising efforts.
  • Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 
Bachelor's degree and five years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
 
Prefer Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

LICENSING REQUIREMENTS 
  • Valid Driver’s License as per State law or requirement.
  • Prefer Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) Certification.
  • Prefer Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) or other related certification for Training Specialist.
