Network Administrator

This non-exempt position will have responsibility within the IT department for maintaining all aspects of network and telecom availability, uptime, and security, and reporting on the same. The Network Administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, operations, security and maintenance of all company network and telecom equipment. This position will work closely with other members of the IT Department to include but not limited to Technicians, System Administrators, and Software Developers.
 

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
  • Required minimum of five years’ work experience in network support and configuration, or equivalent credentials and experience, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+ are a plus
  • Excellent knowledge of LAN/WAN and wireless technology, related protocols, operating systems, concepts and security
  • Excellent knowledge of Next Gen Firewall systems
  • Excellent knowldge of enterprise grade load balancers
  • Familiarity with patch management methodologies
  • Excellent knowledge of physical and virtual server technology
  • Excellent knowledge of telecommunications technology
  • Excellent knowledge of end-user computing and mobile technology
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Customer-service orientation and attitude
  • Creative thinking, self-direction and initiative
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic and high-pressure environment

Responsibilities

The successful individual in this key role will be responsible for:
  • Ensures network availability and uptime across all AMERISAFE data and voice networks
  • Responsible for the security of all AMERISAFE networks, both physically and programmatically
  • Responsible for designing, planning, configuring, and implementing network-related expansions, upgrades, replacements, and enhancements
  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of all network-related documentation and drawings
  • Responsible for AMERISAFE telecommunications 
  • Responsible for responding to and troubleshooting network-related incidents to include diagnosing and repairing
  • Assists with research of IT infrastructure-related projects as requested
