Algiers Point Montessori is seeking a teacher for the 2021-2022 school year. The school will be changing leadership in 2022. An outstanding teacher will have the opportunity to take over the school as owner and director through a buy-out contract.
About Algiers Point Montessori
Algiers Point Montessori is a Pre-K program for students ages 2.5 to 5. We are located just across the river from the French Quarter, a 20 minute drive from Uptown, Mid-City or the Bywater. Prior to applying, please visit our website to read more about our program and curriculum.
Job Duties
- Maintain a safe, peaceful environment
- Provide for the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive needs of each child in your care
- Participate in training and professional development which may be outside your normal hours of work
- Assist with planning and implementing school events which may be outside your normal hours of work
- Clean classrooms and bathrooms
- Communicate with parents and the director about student behavior
- Document student work and progress
- Any other tasks or duties requested by director
Qualifications
Experience with children ages 3 to 5 (required)
Experience in Montessori (preferred)
Patience and calm demeanor
Cleanliness and organization
Consistent with schedule/reliable
Helpful and kind
Management experience (preferred)
Hours
Negotiable within the hours of 8:00 - 3:30 M-F
